Savannah State signs 11 to letters of intent
Instead of monitoring high school football players' signed letters of intent as they arrived by fax Wednesday morning, Savannah State coach Richard Basil was stuck at jury duty. Two Savannah residents who are former NFL players have a keen interest in the outcome of today's divisional playoff game between the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks. Edwin Bailey, who is preparing for his third season as Savannah State's offensive line coach, and Charlie Brown, who was hired last July as Savannah High School's football head coach, said they plan to meet and watch the 4:30 p.m. game on Fox.
