CCSU Names Jeff McInerney HFBC
New Britain, CT - Central Connecticut State University President John W. Miller and Director of Athletics Charles Jones announced on Friday that Jeff McInerney has been named the University's new head football coach. McInerney joins the Blue Devils after spending the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator at the University of Rhode Island.

Central Connecticut hopes new coach worth the wait
A high-ranking source close to the university told The Herald that Jeff McInerney will be named as the school’s new head coach later this week. The announcement could come as early as Wednesday, according to a source. CCSU will replace Tom Masella, who left the Blue Devils on December 8 to take the head coaching position at Fordham after capturing share of the Northeast Conference championship in each of his two years in New Britain.

SBU officially starts random drug testing in the spring season
Stony Brook University will institute random drug testing of athletes in all 20 of its varsity sports, athletic director Jim Fiore has announced. Stringent penalties ranging from suspensions to loss of scholarship and banishment for repeat offenders highlight the school's first program.

Priore plans to build at Stony Brook
To establish a winning tradition a team must find the right coach. The Stony Brook University football program took its first step toward attaining that goal yesterday when it introduced new coach Chuck Priore at a news conference. Priore replaces Sam Kornhauser, who stepped down after leading the Seawolves to a 6-4 record and a share of the Northeast Conference title for the first time in school history.

Long Beach Native Priore To Lead Stony Brook
Stony Brook University Director of Athletics Jim Fiore announced the hiring of Long Beach native Chuck Priore, the former head coach at Trinity College, as the new head football coach. Priore, who led Trinity to four consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) titles and a current 30-game winning streak, becomes the second coach in the program’s history, coming to Stony Brook after six years at Trinity and assistant coaching stints at University of Pennsylvania and Union College.

NEC Announces All-Conference Honors
Somerset, NJ – St. Francis (PA) quarterback Anthony Doria (Pittsburgh, PA/Seton La Salle) led his football team to its most wins since the inception of the Northeast Conference in 1996, guided the Red Flash to the league’s best offensive output since 2001 and became the first ever St. Francis (PA) player to earn NEC Offensive Player of the Year honors.
