Decatur's Shackelford picks I-AA Tennessee Tech
It didn't take Decatur High football coaches long to realize that running back Steve Shackelford was a special talent. "I noticed it when I watched him in the seventh grade for Oak Park playing against really good eighth-graders," Decatur head coach Jere Adcock said. "He could accelerate out of a crowd, and he followed his blockers well." A three-year starter for Decatur and one of the area's most explosive runners, Shackelford will sign a scholarship with NCAA Division I-AA Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tenn., this morning in the friendly confines of the Earl O. Webb Fieldhouse at Decatur High. Visit Website ]
