ASU Athletics Display Case to Be Unveiled
BOONE, N.C. — A state-of-the-art display case featuring Appalachian State University athletics and Appalachian football’s run to the 2005 national championship will be unveiled on Monday, March 27 at 12:30 p.m. The display is located in the ASU’s Plemmons Student Union International Hallway, next to the Crossroads Coffeehouse.

Philadelphia, PA - In his 17th season as the head coach at Appalachian State, Jerry Moore took his sqaud to the promised land. The Mountaineers defeated Northern Iowa, 21-16, on December 16 to win the school’s first national. Since that time, Moore was named the AFCA Coach of the Year, coached in the Hula Bowl, and recently opened the defense of the Mountaineers’ title with spring practice.

Buoniconti to return to Citadel
Joel Thompson remembers clearly when he knew his Citadel teammate, Marc Buoniconti, was ready to reconcile with their old school. Thompson visited his former roommate in Miami when Buoniconti showed him a closet where his cadet's uniform hung crisply along with his football jersey. After more than 20 years of court battles and bad feelings that followed Buoniconti's on-field paralysis during a simple tackle at East Tennessee, Thompson realized the time was right for his old friend to come home.
