Bobcats welcome talented transfers to spring drills
Coming off an 11-3 season and an appearance in the Division I-AA semifinals, the Texas State Bobcats are carrying a lot of momentum into spring workouts. Considering the quality and number of transfers that have flocked to San Marcos, all the national attention the Bobcats received is beginning to pay off. Seven transfers, five from Division I-A programs, opened spring drills with the rest of the team on Monday.

Death stirs memories of unique college series
They were the Darrell Royal and Frank Broyles of small-college football, fierce coaching rivals on the field and good friends off it. Bill Miller and Gil Steinke are both deceased, but they always will be linked in the hearts of those who looked forward to the annual Southwest Texas-Texas A&I game when both schools were in the Lone Star Conference.
