Blue Raiders Open Spring Drills under Stockstill
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Under new Head Coach Rick Stockstill and his staff, the Middle Tennessee football team hit the field for the first time today with the start of spring practice. Due to wet conditions on the practice field, the Blue Raiders conducted workout number one in Floyd Stadium.

NCAA academic rule paints faulty picture of NIU, MAC
The NCAA announced Wednesday that NIU would lose two football scholarships because the Huskies received a failing grade under the new Academic Progress Rate. Only eight football teams in the nation lost scholarships, five of them — including Temple, which joins next fall — from the Mid-American Conference.

With a program this bad, grades aren't the issue
Temple somehow managed to invade the headlines again. For something other than winning football games, of course. The NCAA yesterday revealed that 99 Division I teams at 65 colleges and universities would lose scholarships for poor scholastic performance by their student-athletes. Guess who tops the list of schools scheduled to lose the most scholarships? It's not New Mexico State or Toledo, who'll lose six each. Not Hawaii, Middle Tennessee or Western Michigan, who'll lose five each. It's not even Buffalo (three) or Northern Illinois (two). It's Temple. When it comes to football, the Owls simply do nothing right.
