The NCAA aftermath: Some change, others appeal
Midwestern State was one of 18 schools redflagged by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Aug. 5 after given the verdict of using “hostile” and “abusive” mascots and imagery. According to the release, those schools in violation of the new policy had until Feb.1 to comply with the NCAA and avoid the penalty of not being able to host any postseason tournaments.
