Jacks Add McNeese State To Football Schedule
South Dakota State University has filled its 2006 football schedule. In the process, however, they lost a home game so will now have four games at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium with seven on the road. SDSU assistant athletic director Rob Peterson announced today that the Jackrabbits have signed a home and home contract with McNeese State of Louisiana, playing in Lake Charles, LA, next season before McNeese comes back to Brookings during the 2008 season. Defense has multiple backups shine in CP scrim
While two starters on the Cal Poly football team’s defense were sidelined with injuries, their backups shined Sunday at an informal scrimmage that replaced the annual spring game. Junior middle linebacker Wes Pryor was in on at least one tackle each series he played, including two tackles for loss on draw plays. Junior cornerback Michael Maye came up with one of the defense’s five interceptions and stuck the biggest hit of the day when he exploded on a deep in route. Visit Website ]

Gocong ready for what's ahead
Chris Gocong never dreamed of one day playing for the NFL teams he saw on television. Gocong grew up without a television in his house in Santa Barbara, CA, and without football as a main priority in his life - all of which makes his rise to football stardom and to where he is now, on the cusp of an NFL career, that much more remarkable. The Cal Poly nose tackle-turned defensive end took up music at the age of nine - he still plays the guitar in a band - and thought his ticket to a college athletic scholarship would be his discus and shotput throwing ability.
