GRAMBLING, La. -- ESPN and the College GameDay crew will broadcast live from the 32nd Annual State Farm Bayou Classic football game between Grambling State Tigers and the Southern Jaguars on Saturday, November 26th. This broadcast will be broadcast live nationally at Reliant Stadium from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on the ESPN Network. Kickoff for this game is set for 1 p.m. Central Standard Time and will be televised live nationally on the NBC Network.

As an added note, a special feature on Grambling State's senior quarterback Bruce Eugene will be included in this broadcast. This segment will include a closer look at the Walter Payton Award candidate on his progress throughout his final season.

ESPN and College GameDay provide the most comprehensive coverage of college football in the nation. The crew of Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herstreit and contributing commentator Desmond Howard will visit Reliant Stadium to highlight one of the storied rivalries in all of college football this weekend.

Grambling State head football coach Melvin Spears was very pleased with College GameDay showcasing the Bayou Classic. He feels that this is a monumental event which was a long time coming. "This is the vision of Eddie G. Robinson, Collie J. Nicholson and R.W.E. Jones about being the best and that hard work really pays off. Coach Rob' (Eddie Robinson) always talked about anything is possible in America. It is a great compliment to all of our great players such as Paul "Tank" Younger, Willie Davis, Buck Buchanan, Willie Brown, Charlie Joiner, Doug Williams, James Harris and Sammy White who helped to pave the way for today's ballplayers here at Grambling. It is also a great opportunity for our both the conference (SWAC) and the institution."

"The Bayou Classic is much more than what happens on the gridiron," said Dr. Angelia Weaver, Grambling State's State Farm Bayou Classic coordinator. "It is about the history, tradition, fierce competition and a fight for national bragging rights for the year," she said.

Perhaps one of the most spirited rivalries in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), the annual gridiron clash between the Tigers and the Jaguars, marks the first historically black college and university (HBCU) football classic to be featured on College GameDay in the television show's 19-year history.

"By far, the State Farm Bayou Classic is the most distinguishable collgiate sporting event," stated Cydni Bickerstaff, of Bickerstaff, Sports and Entertainment, the event management company for the Classic. "The fans will get the ultimate game day experience courtesy of ESPN and College GameDay."
