MEAC should stay in I-AA playoff fold
Separate but equal was a bad idea when the principle was validated by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Plessy v. Ferguson decision in 1896. Separate but equal finally was struck down in Brown v. Board of Education in 1954, although it took longer for the idea to disappear.

Norfolk State University Releases 2006 Football Schedule
Norfolk State University released its 2006 football schedule on Tuesday. Seven of NSU's 11 games, including all three non-conference contests, will be played at Dick Price Stadium.

McFadden primed for his 2nd season

For BANDIT Marshall McFadden, the transition from high school to college was swift and “natural.” Exuding the skill, presence and intensity of an experienced upperclassmen, the former three-time Class A champion and North-South All-Star MVP quickly established himself as one of the Bulldogs’ top defensive stoppers.

Bulldogs enter spring with questions
With two straight seasons of nine victories and finishing ranked in the Top 25, the South Carolina State football team is clearly on solid footing enter Year Five of the Oliver “Buddy” Pough era. Nevertheless, with the start of spring practice today at 4:15 p.m., the Bulldogs enter camp with argubly as many question marks as they did during Pough’s inaugural camp.

Chester preps for '06 season
Perhaps no player served as a better reflection of the 2005 Florida A&M football team than redshirt sophomore quarterback Albert Chester Jr. As the Rattlers stumbled in their first game of the season against Delaware State, so did Chester in his first career start, completing no passes and throwing an interception in just a few series before hurting his shoulder.

South Carolina State has revised its 2006 schedule that will now have the Bulldogs playing on the Labor Day weekend, with an open date on Sept. 30.

Delaware State University athletic director Chuck Bell said he expects the school's athletics department to receive full certification by the NCAA, but the announcement will not be made public until DSU's investigation into academic fraud is complete.
