Crowded QB race to start Monday
CHARLESTON -- Still not kicking, Steve Kuehn has returned to a key role in Eastern Illinois football. A happy ending for Daniel's Young
It should have been easier than this for D.W. Daniel left guard Duvall Young. He made the prestigious Shrine Bowl roster and earned a starting spot. South Carolina coaches voted him the Class-AAA Upstate lineman of the year. But, Appalachian State complicated the storybook season, pulling its scholarship offer a few days before National Signing Day. Young’s anxiety-filled month and a half is on the verge of a happy ending. He verbally committed to Division I-AA Tennessee State on Sunday and expects to sign the papers for his full ride later this week. Visit Website ]

UTM among 65 schools that miss mark
The goal is to ensure players are academically eligible and remain with the institution. And that would seem simple enough on the surface. Under a new NCAA academic performance rating released on Wednesday, though, Tennessee Martin's football team was among 99 athletic programs nationwide that drew failing marks and were penalized scholarships beginning next fall. JSU’s ‘O’ could be altered for 2006
Big changes are afoot for Jacksonville State’s football team this spring. In the fall of 2003, when the coaches recognized the Gamecocks didn’t have the players to fit the defense they were playing, they switched to the 3-4 and won the Ohio Valley Conference. Visit Website ]
